| Abstract | Mahatma Gandhi remains one of the most influential figures in modern history, whose philosophy of truth, non-violence, and moral courage transformed not only India's struggle for independence but also inspired movements for justice and peace across the world. His ideas transcended geographical, religious, and political boundaries, offering humanity an ethical framework based on compassion, equality, and peaceful resistance. In the contemporary era, characterized by political conflicts, terrorism, social inequality, environmental degradation, and moral crises, Gandhian philosophy continues to provide meaningful solutions for sustainable peace and social harmony. This paper examines Gandhi's vision through the principles of Ahimsa (non-violence), Satyagraha (truth-force), self-reliance, and social justice. It further explores the global influence of his ideas on leaders such as Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama, and Barack Obama, while evaluating the relevance of Gandhian thought in addressing contemporary global challenges. The study concludes that Gandhi's philosophy is not merely a historical legacy but a living ethical guide capable of inspiring peaceful coexistence and responsible citizenship in the twenty-first century. |
